Greenfield Project

Location: Kalinganagar Industrial Complex at Duburi, Jajpur District, Orissa

In partnership with the Government of Odisha, Tata Steel is committed to set up a 6 million tonne per annum integrated steel plant in two modules of 3 million tonnes each. The MOU was signed between the Government of Odisha and Tata Steel on 17th November 2004 according to which 3471.808 acres of land acquired in 1992, through IDCO is provided for the project at Kalinganagar.

At the moment Tata Steel’s main focus is to ensure the happiness and security of the relocated families, considered as ‘Tata Steel Parivar’ members. The initiatives undertaken go much beyond the provisions of the Kalinganagar R&R Policy and encompass social, cultural and economic development of the people.
