3rd March, the Birth Anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata

Jamshedpur, named after the Founder of the Tata Group, never fails to celebrate his Birth Anniversary on March 3, every year. Conceptualised by Mr. D.M. Madan, Founder’s Day was first celebrated by Tata Steel on March 3, 1932. Since then, a representative style of commemorating this day has evolved, with participation from senior management of the Group, employees of Tata Steel and the people of Jamshedpur alike. The entire town becomes festive with a series of events organised to mark the day


Steel City Golf Tournament

On account of its increasing popularity, the Steel City Golf Tournament today dwells permanently on the City’s annual calendar. Not only the tournament, but also the festivities that follow generate much excitement among enthusiasts.


Art-in-Industry Camp

Art lovers in the city get a chance to see the works of renowned artists from across the Country at a three-day camp organised by Tata Steel at the Centre for Excellence.


Gram Shree Mela

This happens during the month of March

Organised with the objective of bringing the sellers and the buyers to a common platform, this mela is an ideal means to create a market for the rural artisans. It facilitates the marketing of farm produce and other rural products through stalls that put up the wares. The 18th Gram Shree Mela, hosted by Tata Steel and sponsored by Council for Advancement of People's Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), was held at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur.


Jamshedpur International Film Festival

Jamshedpur Film Festival is an annual event organised by city-based premier cineclub, Celluloid Chapter. The 15th Jamshedpur International Film Festival was inaugurated on April 18, 2010 with the screening of award-winning director Rituparno Ghose's Bengali movie "Abahaman".


Santhali Film Festival
